Set against iconic London landmarks like Tower Bridge and The Shard, Winter by the River is the perfect festive escape
London Bridge City’s popular Christmas market is set to return again this year. With the capital’s most famous bridge as its backdrop, Winter by the River will be back next month with rows of charming stalls offering artisanal crafts, gifts and treats.
The festive event will take place from Thursday, November 13 to Sunday, January 4. Visitors can expect luxury finds and handmade creations, as well as mouth-watering winter favourites from the likes of Gourmet Sausage Co, Yorkshire Pudding Wraps and The Mac Shack.
The 2025 edition will also see a brand-new look for The Glasshouse. It’s now a two-storey venue with panoramic views across the Thames.

The redesigned space combines alpine charm with winter elegance, with an inviting mix of cosy corners and vibrant atmosphere. As for the menu, it serves seasonal drinks, craft beers, pizza and hot waffles.
What’s more, exclusive events and entertainment will be organised there throughout the season. These include Paint & Sip, happy hours and live music from Wednesday to Saturday.
The Swift Stone Curling pop-up will be making a comeback too, by popular demand. This year’s expanded layout features six new curling lanes, a larger central bar, and an après-ski themed Aperol bar, all set inside a glass-enclosed riverside venue.
With space for up to eight players per lane, each 50-minute session makes the perfect choice for holiday get-togethers. You can find more information about Winter by the River here.
Winter by the River dates and opening times
Winter by the River will run from Thursday, November 13 to Sunday, January 4. During this period, it’ll be open daily from 11am to 10pm, except on the following days:
- Christmas Eve: 11am to 5pm
- Christmas Day: closed
- New Year’s Eve: 11am to 9pm
