Menulog will wrap up business in Australia this month, impacting approximately 120 jobs and ending years of operations in the country.

In a statement on its website, owners Just Eat Takeaway.com said Menulog had been “navigating challenging circumstances”.

Menulog will stop accepting orders from midnight, November 26.

The service said “all impacted employees will be fully supported with generous redundancy packages above legal requirements”.

The service uses thousands of couriers, who are not employees. Eligible couriers will be entitled to a four-week voluntary payment.

“This strategic decision reflects our focus on accelerating growth and investments in other markets and to deliver the best experience for customers, partners and couriers,” Just Eat Takeaway.com said in its statement.

“All impacted employees will be fully supported with generous redundancy packages above legal requirements and outplacement support.”

In a message to customers, Menulog said it would accept orders until 11.59pm AEDT on Wednesday, November 26, and would continue to honour unused vouchers and account credits until then.

Menulog was founded in Sydney in 2006 and purchased by British company Just Eat in 2015.

Just Eat was then folded into the Dutch-based Just Eat Takeaway.com in 2020.

Menulog, like rival Uber Eats, based advertising campaigns around celebrity endorsements, including rap mogul Snoop Dogg.

Under the Menulog brand, the company also expanded into New Zealand, but ceased operations there in 2024.
