A man will face court after two greyhounds shut in a metal bike locker died in Sydney’s west.
At about 4pm last Wednesday, November 19, police were called to Penrith railway station after a member of the public reported hearing a dog barking inside a metal bike locker.
Police and firefighters managed to open the locker, and found two greyhound dogs.
One was already dead, and the other was suffering from extreme heatstroke.
The living dog was taken to a vet, but died later.
At about 9.30am on November 20, police arrested a 57-year-old man on Station Street, Penrith.
He was charged with 10 animal cruelty offences.
He was refused bail and appeared in court last Thursday, where he was again refused bail to appear in court again today.
