A major Australian caravan manufacturer has collapsed into voluntary administration, leaving hundreds of workers, customers and suppliers in limbo.
Zone RV, based in Coolum on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, is a leading maker of luxury off-road caravans.
But yesterday, restructuring firm Cor Cordis were appointed administrators to try and save the company.
A spokesperson said they are now conducting an “urgent review” of Zone RV’s financial and operating positions.
“Their primary objective is to preserve value for all stakeholders, including approximately 250 employees [plus] customers and suppliers, and to determine the strategic options available for the business moving forward.”
Zone RV employs about 250 staff, who only received the news yesterday.
The business will continue trading in a “substantially reduced capacity”, the spokesperson said.
Administrator Rahul Goyal said all courses of action were being explored.
“Our immediate priority is to assess all viable options that maximise outcomes for all stakeholders while exploring avenues for a sustainable future for the brand,” he said.
Zone RV built a strong reputation with its off-road caravans among four-wheel drive enthusiasts.
