At about 6.15pm on Tuesday, December 23, emergency services were called to the Hume Weir at Table Top.

Police were told a 64-year-old man entered the water from a boat but did not resurface.

Two children on the same boat were uninjured.

A massive search was carried out involving firefighters, the SES, volunteers, and police, for several days.

At about 11.30am yesterday, a man’s body was found.

The body is yet to be identified but is believed to be that of the missing man.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
