The flight was QF748, which arrived in Sydney at 10.30pm; people who were in the domestic arrivals hall at Sydney Airport’s Terminal 3 at around 11pm are also being warned to monitor for symptoms.

The infected person was also confirmed to be at the Concord Repatriation General Hospital Emergency Department from 1.00pm to 4.10pm on Saturday.

People who were on the flight are being told to watch for symptoms until January 16, whilst people who were at the same hospital as the infected person must monitor for symptoms until January 21.

“Symptoms to watch out for include fever, sore eyes, runny nose and a cough, usually followed three or four days later by a red, blotchy rash that spreads from the head and face to the rest of the body,” Dr Conrad Moreira said.

“It can take up to 18 days for symptoms to appear after an exposure.”

“The measles vaccine can prevent the disease even after exposure, if given early enough,” he said.
