Four people seriously injured after dog attack inside Melton home

Four people have been rushed to hospitalwith serious injuries after they were mauled by their pet dog in Melbourne’s west.

The dog attacked two men and two women inside a home on James Cook Drive in Melton around 10pm yesterday, according to police.

The dog was seized by council rangers, as was a second dog at the home.

The attack occurred at a home in Melton, around 40km west of Melbourne’s CBD. (Nine)

A male in his 20s was treated for mid-body injuries and taken to Western Hospital Footscray in a stable condition.

A male in his late teens was treated for lower-body injuries and taken to to Sunshine Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A female in her 30s was treated for lower to mid-body injuries and taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A female in her late teens was treated for lower-body to mid-body injuries and was transported to Sunshine Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this stage.

Melton City Council has been contacted for comment.
