A man has been charged with multiple further domestic violence offences, including rape and coercive control, after a woman was allegedly chained up in a Sydney home last year.
Police will allege in court a 34-year-old man, known to the woman, chained her up in their home on The Esplanade in Oak Flats.
It’s alleged that between July and August last year, the man inflicted ongoing physical assaults on the woman, including throwing scissors and a meat tenderiser at her.
The woman was taken to hospital and treated for fractures to her eye socket and multiple broken ribs.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at a home on The Esplanade in Oak Flats at about 1.30pm on August 6 and charged with multiple offences including kidnapping, and assault.
Following further legal advice, yesterday he was charged with more offences including sexual intercourse without consent, choking, and coercive control.
He has been in custody since his first appearance in court last August and will nest appear in court today.
