Detectives have charged the alleged gunman they claim killed Sydney plumber John Versace in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.

Versace, 23, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds outside his family home in Condell Park on May 19.

About 9am today, detectives charged 21-year-old Blaze Collins with murder in Silverwater.

He was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today.

Police will allege the man was the gunman in the shooting murder of Versace.

Police believe it was a case of mistaken identity, with Versace having no criminal links.

Last week, two men were charged over their alleged involvement in the murder and remain before the courts.

A 43-year-old was arrested in Casula and a 19-year-old was arrested in Bankstown last Wednesday.

Police will allege those two men were involved in driving and moving the cars involved in the murder.
