An arrest warrant has been issued in Queensland for a man over the death of his support worker, after the suspect was charged with driving offences in New South Wales.

The body of a 46-year-old Ashgrove woman was found on a property at Waterford Tamborine Road in Buccan at about 2.30am on Monday.

She was reported missing after last being seen on Saturday.

The 36-year-old male resident of the Buccan property, Wa’el Alfar, was not at home when police attended.

Alfar was arrested near Kempsey in New South Wales at about 2pm on Monday after allegedly leading police on a high-speed car chase.

He was charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving.

Police will seek to extradite the man from NSW. (9News)

He is currently in custody in NSW until February 25, when he will be sentenced.

Queensland Police have now issued an arrest warrant for Alfar for the murder of the 46-year-old woman, and will seek his extradition once court matters in NSW are finalised.

The investigation continues.
