Packets of biscuits sold across Australia are being pulled from shelves over concerns they contain unusually high levels of a biotoxin.
Leos Imports and Distributors has issued a recall warning for Sapori Soft Amaretti Biscuits 175g packs, sold at independent stores in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, the ACT and Tasmania, as well as online in NSW and Victoria.
They have the best before date markings of 02/05/26 and 25/08/26.
The Italian-made biscuits contain abnormally high levels of naturally occurring hydrocyanic acid, the recall notice says.
Consumers are being warned the biscuits may cause illness if consumed.
Anyone who has purchased them should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Medical advice should be sought over health concerns.
