Police are investigating a hit-run incident at an Adelaide laundromat, where a vehicle crashed into the business, narrowly avoiding a cleaner and a child.

The incident occurred at approximately 8pm yesterday, resulting in significant damage to the premises on Yorktown Road in Elizabeth Park.

The cleaner, who requested anonymity, described the experience as deeply unsettling.

“I’m still in shock,” the woman who narrowly avoided injury said.

The vehicle, a Holden sedan, not only struck the laundromat once but reversed and rammed the building again before fleeing the scene.

“Maybe he accidentally (did) this,” the cleaner, who wished to remain anonymous, said.

Smashed glass was seen on the ground near the laundromat. (Nine)

“I’m not sure what’s happened with him… because he hit (the building) a few times.”

Police located the vehicle in Craigmore, however, the driver remains at large.

The laundromat had recently replaced the window after a customer accidentally broke it last week.

The business continued to operate today but it’s believed the damage bill will exceed $5000.
