Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death of a baby boy west of Melbourne.
The one-year-old boy was taken to hospital by his mum and her partner after he became unresponsive at a home in Sebastopol, Ballarat about midday on November 4.
The child passed away in a Melbourne hospital two days later on November 6.
Detectives from the homicide squad and the Ballarat Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Investigation Team have spoken with the 26-year-old mother and her 18-year-old male partner.
Investigations into the exact circumstances leading up to the child’s death remain ongoing.
