An investigation is under way after a man was allegedly stabbed during a violent affray after two car crashes in Melbourne’s north yesterday.

Multiple people called Triple Zero after a Kia and a Volkswagen Golf were seen allegedly driving “erratically” on Dimboola Road in Broadmeadows about 5pm.

Police allege the Kia was seen ramming the Volkswagen several times, before both cars drove on the wrong side of Pascoe Vale Road.

The Kia then collided with another car on the road.

A 20-year-old man emerged from one of the cars and was allegedly stabbed in the upper body with a machete.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Four people – a 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man – were arrested at the scene a short time later.

They were all released pending further enquiries.
