A man has been charged following several alleged peep and pry incidents in Sydney’s Inner West.

On August 25, detectives launched a strike force to investigate several peep and pry sexual act offences in Sydney’s Inner West.

Between Sunday May 18 and Tuesday October 21, police were called to a home in Harnett Avenue in Marrickville, in the early hours of the morning, following five separate occasions after reports that a woman could hear a man attempting to speak to her through a window.

The man fled the scene before police arrived on all occasions.

About 3.30am on Saturday June 21, police were called to a home in Livingstone Road in Marrickville, following reports of a man allegedly attempting to speak to a female through the window.

The man fled the scene before police arrived.

About 1.30am on Tuesday 21 October, investigators were surveilling Hartnett Street in Marrickville when they allegedly observed a man walking along the footpath of Hartnett Street before he entered the front of a home and allegedly peered through a window of the house.

Police attempted to speak to the man before he fled.

Officers arrested a 64-year-old man in a nearby car park.

The man was taken to Newtown Police Station.

He was charged with seven counts of peep or pry, damaging property, custody of a knife in a public place, and resisting police officers in the execution of duty.

The man was refused bail to appear in court on Thursday October 3, after he was granted conditional bail to appear at Newtown Local Court on Tuesday, 4 November.
