A shooting involving US Border Patrol in Arivaca, Arizona, is under investigation, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.

The department is working with the FBI and US Customs and Border Protection, the statement on Facebook said.

The Associated Press reported that one man was in a critical condition.

Arivaca is an hour south of Tucson, near the US-Mexico border.

The Santa Rita Fire District said it responded to the shooting and the person who was wounded was in custody.

“Patient care was transferred to a local medical helicopter for rapid transport to a regional trauma centre,” the fire district said, Associated Press reported.
