Trains on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line have been cancelled between Gosford and the Hawkesbury River due to the fire.

Transport NSW warned trains on the line may stop at platforms or between stations for longer than normal.

Replacement buses have been ordered but are not yet on site, Transport NSW said.

Passengers are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time, listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.

Fire crews are still working to contain that fire but it is under control.

Temperatures across NSW are soaring today, with parts of Sydney nudging 40 degrees.

Sydney’s south-west recorded a top of 40.2 degrees just before 2pm, while it was 36.7 degrees at Sydney Airport.

The city is expected to reach a top of 39 degrees today.
