Sydney woman, 40, allegedly tried to smuggle $13m of meth labelled as tea

Officers allegedly discovered 18 vacuum-sealed bags labelled as “tea” but containing “a clear crystalline substance” in her luggage.

The drugs had an estimated street value of more than $13 million and could have been sold in over 150,000 individual street deals the AFP says.

The 40-year-old was charged with importing a commercial quantity of methamphetamine and faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
