The one state set to get a drenching on Christmas Day

Early predictions are in for December’s weather forecast, including Christmas Day, and it’s looking wet for one city.

Accuweather has revealed its long-range weather forecasts for next month each of Australia’s capital cities.

Here’s what’s in store for the central hubs of each state and territory.

There will be plenty of sun in Sydney this December, with some cloudy conditions and showers predicted across the month.

Temperatures will range from lows of 17 degrees to highs of up to 35 degrees.

Christmas day should be dry and mostly sunny with a low of 20 degrees and a high of 24 degrees.

It’s going to be hot in Brisbane this December, with highs of 32 degrees and lows of about 18 degrees.

Expect plenty of sun with a few summer storms thrown in around the middle and end of the month.

Unfortunately, Christmas day is predicted to be hot and rainy with a low of 23 and high of 29.

December will be warm but cloudy in Melbourne, with highs of up to 35 degrees and lows of just 11 degrees.

Some rain and thunderstorms are predicted towards the middle of the month.

Christmas day is expected to be cloudy with patches of sun and a high of 22 degrees.

Canberra will enjoy a balmy December, with highs of up to 33 degrees and lows of 9 degrees.

The skies will be a mix of sun and cloud cover for most of the month, with a smattering of showers – including on Christmas Day.

December 25 will be rainy but should still be warm, with an expected high of 25 degrees.

December is looking like a mixed bag in Adelaide, where temperatures are predicted to reach highs of up to 34 and dip to lows of just nine degrees.

Most of the month will be cloudy, with patches of rain and even fog.

Christmas Day is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 24 degrees.

Perth will experience a sticky summer based on current predictions for December, with highs around 30 degrees and lows of 14 degrees.

Most of the month will be sunny with a few isolated patches of cloud, though they should pass in time for Christmas.

Christmas Day is expected to be a sunny affair with a low of 17 degrees and a high of 25 degrees.

December in Darwin will be sweltering, with predicted average highs of up to 36 degrees and lows of 24 degrees.

Expect rain and storms throughout the month, and plenty of cloud cover even when it’s not wet.

Christmas Day is currently predicted to be one of the few sunny days, with December 25 slated for a high of 35 degrees.

Hobart will enjoy a more temperate introduction to summer, with plenty of sun and a smattering of rainfall through the month.

Highs will hit up to 27 degrees, with lows of just 8 degrees.

Christmas Day is looking brisk and cloudy at this stage, with a predicted high of just 18 degrees.
