Police have confiscated a ute and are investigating its driver after a young man died in a suspected hit-and-run in north-west Sydney overnight.
Emergency services were called by a passing motorist at about 7.45pm yesterday who stopped and found a 23-year-old man unresponsive on the side of Old Kurrajong Road, at Richmond.
Paramedics arrived, but the man died at the scene.
Police set up a crime scene, and forensic experts later established the man was struck by an unknown vehicle that failed to stop after the crash.
About one hour later, officers were called when a Nissan Navara ute left the road and rolled into a paddock at Kurmond Road, North Richmond.
CCTV footage shows the Nivara rolling down an embankment and stopping in dense bushland on the side of the road.
A 41-year-old man was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to hospital for assessment.
The man is now being investigated by police, but no charges or arrests have been made.
A second crime scene was set up at the paddock where the vehicle will be seized for forensic examination.
Police are investigating if the incidents are linked.
Any witnesses or anyone who has available dashcam/mobile phone footage should contact Windsor police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
