Eleven people have been injured in an accident during a demolition derby in NSW tonight.

At least one person, a man in his 50s, was fighting for life after a car crashed through a fence and into spectators at the Walcha Motorcycle Rally in Walcha, 420 kilometres north of Sydney, about 6.20pm.

NSW Ambulance told 9News seven others were in a serious but stable condition.

NSW MP Brendan Moylan said those injured had been taken to hospital.

“Thank you so much to the ambos, the police, the SES and everyone involved for their swift and incredibly professional work at the scene,” Moylan said in a post on Facebook.

“Like all of us, my thoughts are with everyone affected.”
