The driver of the Yaris, a 38-year-old man, allegedly fled the scene in the car after the crash, but was located a short time later by police at a nearby house.

He was taken into custody.

No charges have been laid.

Three other pedestrians, two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man, were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Police are investigating the crash and urge anyone with information to contact police.
