A 12-year-old girl was among three people killed in a horror crash near Kingaroy in Queensland overnight.

Initial investigations suggest a Dodge Ram ute collided with a Ford Ranger ute on the Bunya Highway at Taabinga, near the intersection of Stuart Valley Drive and Toomey’s Road, shortly after 10pm.

The Dodge Ram burst into flame after the crash.

The male driver of the Ram, who was the only person in the car, died at the scene.

A 44-year-old woman, who was driving the Ranger, and a 12-year-old girl in the car, also died.

A 13-year-old girl who was also a passenger in the Ranger was taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a serious but stable condition and later airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The highway remains closed at the location of the crash this morning, with diversions in place.

Anybody who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the crash and who may have information, is urged to contact police.
