An 18th birthday party has turned into pandemonium after men in balaclavas descended on a family barbecue in Queensland.
Residents said a green car pulled up to their street in Clontarf, north of Brisbane, on November 15 and a group of strangers threatened their daughters.
“Never seen them in my life ever, wouldn’t even know who they are,” one resident said.
“I went straight out and said, ‘hey, what’s going on?’ They wanted to get mouthy, carry on and they took off.”
The unknown group returned 20 minutes later with a truckload of mates in tow and a fight broke out.
“It was something you’d see in a movie, mate,” the resident said.
“What the bloody hell, like, what were they thinking?”
The fight initially involved brooms, rakes and shovels until fists started to fly.
In one final goodbye from the homeowners, one resident smashed a headlight before the unwanted guests eventually took off.
One resident needed staples to his head after the fight.
Police are investigating this incident but officers are still collecting statements from witnesses almost a month later.
The residents in the home want to press charges but they have been warned they could also face charges themselves.
“What do you do? What’s right and what’s wrong? Do I get beat up by wanna be gangsters and or do I fight back and protect my family?” the resident said.
