There are dozens of Victorians waking up $255,521.65 richer today – but some of them might not know it.

A lottery syndicate of 40 people won more than $10 million, after having one of two division one-winning Powerball entries in Thursday night’s draw.

The group, which calls itself 100 PowerHits, also managed to score division two 19 times, division eight 14 times and division nine 29 times, taking their total prize pool to $10,220,866.

However, it won’t be a party for a group of friends or co-workers after the large haul, with the entry comprising of members unknown to each other.

They’ve purchased their syndicate share from 25 different Tatts outlets across Melbourne and Victoria.

Some of these players are registered with The Lott but a number of them aren’t, meaning lottery officials need those holding unregistered entries to go and claim their prize.

“If you purchased a share into a group syndicate for the recent Powerball draw, today’s the day to check it,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

People who think they may have a winning share can check their ticket in-store, online or via the app.

The winning numbers in last night’s Powerball draw were 16, 25, 17, 15, 27, 7 and 26. The all-important Powerball number was 9.

The other division one winner was from Western Australia.
